I spent the first 6 years of my life mostly deaf, so I'd rather not relive that.

Being blind could hamper my driving skills (though admittedly not by much).

Stephen Hawking... eh, neh.

Since I rarely speak anyway, I'll go with mute.

I'd have to choose mute because i dont talk much anyway. And when i do, noone cares what i have to say anway, so being a mute wouldnt hurt me too much.

Well, I'm already half blind, and that sucks enough, so no.
I have "mother" hearing, which I enjoy because I don't miss a thing. Even when I appear to be in a coma, trust me, I hear everything.
Hawking...just not appealing.
So, mute gets my vote. Simply because it would make so many people happy to finally shut me up, and sometimes I seriously need to just not speak.

That works nicely for me cause I'd pick deaf. My biggest pet peeves are auditory in nature, and I can always use sign language to communicate to my grunting mute hubby.

After weighing all the options, I think being mute is definitely the way to go.

I'd say deaf, cause you'd still be able to communicate. I think blind is the worst of the three (forgetting Steven Hawkins). But that's only if it were to happen to me now, cause I'd still be able to talk. If I were born deaf, I'd have that weird deaf voice and wouldn't be understandable anyhow.
