I submit, that if I was stuck somewhere with another human, let's say Alkey, and we crashed an airplane high in the mountains, and we were freezing and starving, I'd cut him up and eat him.

Thoughts on how you'd handle the most extreme situations here please.

I would have a real hard time doing that. Even if it meant my own survival and the other person were dead, it would take a lot for me to do that.

I just heard of a story where some guy had his arm caught in a boulder and in order to survive, he snapped his arm by torquing it and then took a Swiss Army knife and cut it off.

They say in extreme situations you'll be surprised at what you would do, but just sitting here and thinking about it, I don't know if I could.

That story's a couple of months old actually Moosen. Unless we're talking of different stories. Guy had to hike like 4 miles after cutting his own arm off to escape, after days of being trapped.

That's a rough one.

I read a study on monkeys, relating them to humans, that said: "The mother monkey, when exposed to shockwaves through the floor of a cage, initially picked up her baby to protect him. The mother monkey, while being tortured with the electric currents, for however long, up to whatever levels, finally put the baby underneath her to stand on and protect her from the electricity".

I think I'd die first......but they say that natural human preservation instincts set in. The whole thought is just scary.

It probably is the same story. I just heard about it recently, but it could have happened a while ago.
I know most would do the same in order to survive, but that takes balls to break your arm and then cut it off. I can't even imagine how intense that pain was. :o

I followed it. The guy said he had 2 major bones he knew he had to bust, he did them one at a time. Then began, with his dull knife, to begin to sever the tendons and skin and muscles. He passed out a few times doing it, but had put a tourniquet above his elbow so he wouldn't die of blood loss. I can't remember how far it was after he had to hike, before he hit a road, but it was far. Wow.

Another story: Guy crashes his personal aircraft, somewhere in Alberta I think. He was missing for a week or so. They eventually found the wreck, and him. He had basically destroyed his leg, so had began to cut off chunks of meat from it to survive off of. Man's still with us to date.

Reminds me of the Yosmite Sam and Bugs Bunny episodes, where's they're stuck on a remote island, and Yosmite Sam keeps trying to cook him.

If any of us get stuck together somewhere, and I show up with carrots and spices, run.

Depends on how badly you're bleeding before it's a cold meal. If we have a grill and matches, we're good to go.
