I know what allows me the freedom to be a board whore.
I'm the Director of Marketing for an accounting software firm. And a partner.
Lots of ebbs and tides frees me lots of times to whore these boards.
What the hell is it that you guys do, for a living?

Paralegal. I have to bill the majority of my day to clients. Over the years I have gained the ability to effectively bill 2 hours for what takes me 5 minutes to do. You do the math.
By the way I hate my job anyone got a job for an underachieving unpublished writer?

Up until a little while ago I was the Quality assurance manager for an Organic deli meat company.
Right now I am working on my bachelors degree in Information technology.
So I can do something i like.

I work for FDNY as a fire alarm dispatcher, roughly translated, I tell the firemen where to go. I assist in maintenance of the circuits for the alarm boxes, act as a liason between FDNY and other city agencies, make sure the boro I work in has adequate protection, fill out reports on suspicious fires, and the most funnest part of of all, put up with regular abuse over the phone and thru the alarm boxes from punk kids and ignorant adults alike. They always like to tell you various parts of their anatomy are on fire(kids), and the ladies always like to tell you about a problem they have and then tell you how that they have kids. We have good hours and good time off, however if you want to take a specific day off, the only way to do it is either to swap out with someone or call in sick. Anyone interested, the test comes out next year.
