Middle Class kids are constantly taught that they are smart, life is great, etc etc etc. When they hit later elementary school and find out that life is tough, that not everyone likes them, that they actually have a nice life and other people suffer daily, they get upset because 1) the feel guilty that they have it nice, 2) they realized that they have been lied to their entire life (being fat is not ok, you can't bang that hot blonde...) I also found that most "goths" espically from Long Island were the same people spending weeks agonizing over the balloon colors of their prom. But, then daddy didn't buy them the right colored Mercedes, hence the rebellion.

Goths become a t-shirt you can buy; its really sad now, but I have listened to the music for about 10 yr.s now and I don't dress anything like most of these kids nowa days. I mean whats the point in bring different if you all look the same???I just love the music and always will, I also mean real bands not like most of these "after school goths"( you know the ones that hang out all day in Hot Toppic talking about how "Hardcore Goth" they are), Real bands like Joy Divison,Christian Death,Skinny Puppy, Bauhaus,The Cure,Sisters Of Mercy,Fields Of The Nephilim,ect.But im not goth, I go with no labels as to who I am.
