O&A and S.U. needs the help of the hardcore O&A fans!

Dear O&A fans,

Over the years a faithful core of O&A fans have given the gift of SU to all O&A fans. Countless hours of work has gone into recording shows, saving shows, cataloging shows and distributing full shows and bits to you, the O&A fan. Now SU needs your help. In recent months alot of new O&A material has been unearthed and in the next couple of months more and more lost audio is coming to you all. Here is where you the fan can help syndication underground and O&A fans in general. As these shows are released we need fans to help out by writing show reviews for these new releases as well as shows that have been available for some time now. The fine folks at opieanthony.net have a show review section, and in that section you can find a simple page where you can enter in the show reviews. If anyone is interested in writing reviews, please feel free to contact me or the admin at opieanthony.net. As more and more material comes in, we really need those show reviews so we can archive the shows, catalog them and in turn help O&A out as well. These reviews will help them out so they can put together "Worst Ofs" by easily finding bits from certain shows. Any help is greatly appreciated in this effort!

First, let me say that I for one appreciate all the hard work you've done, Blue. I also appreciate the mention in your post when all I really did was relay, Av8er's stream (and I can't say enough good things about that mofo). Cost me a few bucks a month for 365, but it was money well spent in my opinion.

I honestly don't have the time to write show reviews. And if I did have the time, I honestly wouldn't have the effort.

I don't say this to be a dick or anything, and I'd hope you know me well enough by now to know that I'm not. I'm just telling the truth. I don't even listen to old shows anymore, the odd bit here and there, but thats it. I want new stuff now, and I know in a few months I'll get it. I'm sure many others feel the same way.

I do have two issues with things said in your last two posts, if I'm wrong on the first one then please correct me.

As more and more material comes in, we really need those show reviews so we can archive the shows, catalog them and in turn help O&A out as well. These reviews will help them out so they can put together \"Worst Ofs\" by easily finding bits from certain shows.

They aren't EVER going to be able to air this previous stuff on a new channel. All of it is owned by Viacom/Infinity. It may help them personally if they want the stuff, but they'll never be able to air any of it as a "worst of". They don't own it, and I doubt they'll ever get permission.

I don't think thats a fair statement.

I can only speak for myself, but I know that if anyone ever says "Hey CT you have this bit, that show etc..." if I have it they get it, no questions asked. And lots of people yourself included pay money out of your own pocket to run boards or FTP's dedicated to a show that hasn't been on the air for almost two years.

Thanks for the reply CT. I do have to let you know though that people like you are few and far between. For every O&A fan who does help out as much as take what people work for free on, there are dozens of leeches who will just take and not give back at all. In fact, they take and DEMAND more. I have been running my feed for over two years now and you should see the emails I get if god forbid the feed drops. I am just hoping to reach a few of the O&A fans who really do want to help out and give some back to the efforts of the people in SU.

Nah, thank you. You've busted your ass keeping the show alive since the boys got canned. You deserve mad fucking props for that.

I only hope the two most important people you are doing this for, remember you when they do get back on the air. If they don't it'll be a shame.

Anybody who bitches about your feed going down should rot in hell. You pay to provide them with entertainment. Your a better person than I to put up with those e-mails. I tossed up the 9/11 week shows the year they went off the air, I had a few problems one day and got those same kind of e-mails bitching about why it went down. I stopped streaming shortly after that. I didn't need that crap.

I don't think the bitchers are the real O&A fans though.

When they do come back, I'll be one of the first people to help stream the show.

Hmmm. . .this didn't seem to stop them when they made the move from Boston to NY. . . .there have been several bits played where O&A take out the station names - for reference points alone I'm sure we will hear replayed stuff from WNEW no matter where they resurface.
