Okay, count me in!
I signed up.
Rotisserie is definitely better for baseball, so I'm glad we went with that. I do have a few suggestions about the league parameters that could be discussed. I'm signed up either way, but they might make things a little better. Certainly worth discussing.
1- We should have waivers. Baseball has waivers, and it gives a fairer shot at a dropped player. One because lower ranked teams get first crack, and two because everyone sees the player is available, as opposed to just happening to be online at the right time.
2- I'd push the trading deadline to the end of August or Labor Day. The race should be heating up, and big trades are the best part of Rotisserie. I think a month and a half w/o trades is too long.
3- Might be too many categories. I'd drop holds from the pitching side, and hits or walks, maybe OBP from the offense. (or AVG, but both is too much.) I've usually played 5x5... also having more categories for offense devalues pitchers.
4- I don't like a "can't cut list", but that might just be me. Some people like to use up all their starts, and then trade starters for relievers late in the season.
5- Last thing, based on football, I think we'll have a great season, but please-please, if you're not going to stick it all the way out, don't join. This goes all the way to October, and dead teams are an absolute albatross on a league.
Looking forward to a great season!!

1) all my leagues since i started playing FF about 7 years ago have never had waivers. to me it was always the fastest to the punch got it. this may mean i miss out on some guys, but if i am REALLY on top of the league i dont want to have to wait to see if some half assed guy in last place wants him before me. if the general consensus is that its wanted id add it.
2) ill make it the latest date. i forgot to check that. sorry
3) the reason i added walks is for guys like bonds who get walked half their at bats. the fantasy owner shouldnt suffer bc half the league wont pitch to him. ill get rid of OBP. as far as holds, i figured i would add it bc this way a setup guy might have some value. i have no issue getting rid of hits. again, like all my leagues, if more people want stuff changed, just speak up and it should be taken care of pretty quick
4) ill get rid of it.
5) I AGREE!!! while it might be nice to know you wont be in last place, id say half the fun is being involved with this league and keeping up with it.
EVERYONE in the league please comment on these topics and any other issues/concerns you may have.
