do you remember that silly little blackout the US had last year? well, my company is one of the companies working on making sure that never happens again. We remotely control emergency generators (like at supermarkets, waste control plants, etc) and run them whenever the energy grid is stressed. this offloads the strain on the grid and prevents a blackout.

I write the software that supports it.

just for the month of may. basically all of our software needs to be done for june when things start to get hot.

there certainly isn't a shortage of stuff for me to work on. Plus there is always the task of taking the stuff i've already written and making it cleaner, faster and prettier.

that all nighter i did saved us probably a couple hundred g's of lost revenue. sometimes you need to just buckle down and get the shit done.

we don't do much business in your area just yet. We have about 30 pathmark stores under our belt, but our breadbasket it southwest connecticut.
