When I was a kid, we had a hard time finding places to play. Because they were all used up by others kids playing. Wanted to play football? Too bad, all three empty fields are being used up, take a number. Wanna play basketball? Wait your turn, there are three teams waiting to go on the bench. There was never a lack of activities. Shit, we used to have a game where we kicked a rock down the street. Now its a fucking ghost town out there. But, there are several contributing factors. First, parents. Most parents find it easier to park their kids in front of the tv/computer/playstation because it takes no effort from them and they know where their kid is. They cant get in trouble if theyre in their own house right?

Second, society. Society has gone to shit. You used to be able to let your kids go outside and not worry, because you knew the world around you was pretty safe. And if something did happen, a nieghbor or some other person with half a brain would be around to keep an eye on your kid or help if needed. Now everyone wants to keep to themselves and shut themselves in. I was at my moms house a few weeks ago, and these 2 kids, brothers, were across the street from their house, right in front of my moms. The older brother pushes the younger brother down, and starts bouncing on him. The younger brother starts whining, so Im like \"Hey man, get off him, let him up\". You would think their mom would be thanking me right? Nope. She comes out and gives me a look like Im a fucking asshole. Im sure thats pretty common these days.

Third, the media. Of course parents dont want to let their kids outside these days, look at all the shit going on in the world that the media shoves in our faces all the time? Why not show some of the good things? Why not cover the people having fun at the fair instead of the murder in the city? Because that wont get ratings of course.

You want a solution? Parents need to get up off their asses, and TAKE their kids out to do things. MAKE them go out and be active. I run my chubby ass all over my backyard, the playground, the park, the elementary school chasing them on their bikes yelling at them to slow down. And you know what? I never see anyone else out there doing the same thing.

No, it's because of all of the damn Spics and the fact that 1/2 of the children under 10 in this country only speak Spanish.

You can't play dodgeball or kickball with kids who don't understand a word you are saying.
