Actually the highest alarm I have dispatched aside from working the 11th, which was about the equivalent of 20 alarms worth of units(approx 200) was the St John the Divine Fire in December of '01 which was a 5th alarm(approx 40 units) with about 5 or 6 special calls for additional units and a staging area set up with 8 fire trucks and 2 chiefs to be used as needed.
As for Rainman, definitely, definitely fun. Happy five minutes to a 10-75.
And If DIG truly lives in some backwater area of Virginia, he has to deal with the volunteers who usually take about 20 minutes to get anywhere, and by then they are saving the foundation and nothing else, so I truly feel bad for you.
