I don't know why folks continue to make a "console vs. PC" debate.
When a console is built, that's it. Games are made based on that current technology, and when games get too advanced, guess what happens? A new console is built to accomodate them. You are acting like you don't upgrade. You don't? So none of you will buy the impending PS-III whenever it's created, wiil you?
Here's a quick list (tell me if I miss any):
Sega-- Master System, Genesis, Sega CD, 32X, Saturn, Dreamcast.
Nintendo-- NES, Super NES, N-64, Gamecube
Sony-- Playstation, PS2 (PS-III is confirmed on the way)
The truth is, you "upgrade" your consoles roughly every 3 years or so, which is about the same time a PC user has to upgrade his or her system.
The only difference is that my PC has better backward compatibility (I can still play many-- not all, but many-- DOS-based games if I wanted to), can play DVD's, surf the Net, play or edit videos and music, create documents and templates.
Oh, if I really wanted to play a "console-exclusive" game on my PC, they have emulators that can handle that for me too. It's like having a Genesis/Gamcube/PS2 all-in-one.
