But first, be glad that I have spared your eyes by omitting a Susan Powter picture here.
Anyway, last night I was talking with some friends, and the subject of all the damn red X's came up. So one of them mentions a solution he's seen, using an anonymizer in the URL. Supposedly it works. Here's the email he sent me with more detail:

Quote:Ok, this is what I was talking about concerning a solution for the people on your message board who use Yahoo to host their images.Soooooo, give it a shot, folks. Should be interesting, and pretty cool if it does work - which is why I posted it here instead of the geek cave.
First, find a host for your images. Like Tripod.com, or 20megsfree.com. When you link to your images on the message board, insert the text \"http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/\" before the URL of the image. So if the URL for the image is \"http://www.freehost.com/myimage.jpg\", then what you're going to be linking to is \"http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://www.freehost.com/myimage.jpg\".
I don't know why this works, I don't know how it forces a server to allow remote linking, but it seems to work. I've tested it with an image I have on Tripod, and it worked with that.
