Believe it or not, I read an article a while back that said that the "traditional" condiment makers (ketchup, mustard, etc.) were getting killed because salsa has become so popular and mainstream, with people using it on lots of different things. So while Heinz still sells the most ketchup, the competition comes from Old El Paso now, and not Hunts.
That said, I ain't eatin' no purple ketchup.
