I can tell you why I stopped buying CD's, and I am not a downloader. Price, followed by quality.
After a point I was only buying CD's of people I knew I already liked, or if I had heard and liked the entire CD somewhere else first. And then, usually only on sale or with a gift certificate or something (one bad thing about no more The Wiz... no more $11.98 CD's). I'm much more likely to start picking up more music if the price drops to 12.99 again.
