all the stations I listen to in the morning had a moment of silent at 8:47 AM this morning. (WPLJ, Z100, WKTU, WQHT, WPDH).
I saw quite a few of my neighbors flags at half staff this morning.
Personally, I've had a flag on my car from day one as a sign of support. My bro-in-law is a Port Authority cop. he gave me some stickers for my cars remembering those that we lost from PAPD, NYFD and NYPD. It's the least I could do to show my support for the families of the ones we lost. I don't know the statistics on NYPD but NYFD lost 343 and PAPD lost 37 that day.
Has the tone come down? Yes, it has. Was it expected? to some degree. I think that even if people don't show it or say it, in some form, they all remember it. 9/11 is a hard day to forget.
