I think the state has proven itself trigger-happy enough that if he screws up, they can recall him just as easily as they did Davis.

If nothing else, watch how many politicians in other states (including our own) fight to make sure any recall system like California's is <b>not</b> instituted, or if it exists already, that its power is significantly lessened. It could prove too much of a way for constituents to keep their elected officials on their toes, and we all know how they don't want that.
