Logic defies your fear of flying. If the 150-odd other people on the plane aren't afraid, don't you think your fear might be somewhat irrational?
Of course, I understand that fear is generally not rational. However, the main source of fear is lack of comprehension. If you understood how planes fly, you would realize that most of your fear is based in fantasy.
You are more likely to die in a car accident than in a plane crash.
Then again, I'm so numbed to flying that I frequently sleep through turbulence, take offs and landings.
So, like Grumpy said, try to take your mind off of it. It's over before you know it and I figure you actually DO have a better chance of winning the lottery than you do of dying in a plane crash. And if it's not death you fear, then your ears popping is the worst you'll have to face. And that can be overcome by chewing gum.
