And it's unusual with me- being one of the very few white people with my name (Janelle). In high school, I found out that I wasn't the only Janelle around, but I was the only white one. When people say "Oh, I know a Janelle", I always ask if they're white or black (NOT as a racist thing, but just to be curious if I'm not the only white one out there), and they tell me that they're white. Which then, I don't feel so left out.
But dammit- it's so hard finding anything with my name on it!
When I worked for Staples, there was another girl there who worked there w/my name, she was black & spelled it funky- Jeunelle.
Odd huh?
