a wise man would never actually acknowledge to anyone else but to himself that he knew "nothing".
It would be quite unwise for a wise man to advertise openly to everyone that he did indeed know "nothing" and yet, it would be quite arrogant of him to pronounce that, as a wise man, he truely knew everything.
quite the conundrum for the wise man, I know.
