I know they've both said that they believe the flagship show of any station is supposed to be it's morning show. I find that to be bullshit logic.
The industry has only had that viewpoint because of Hoo Hoo and Imus, and it sucks. 3-7 is the greatest time slot in radio. Why? You're doing the pre-work death march in the mornings, and no matter what comes out of that radio you know your next 8 hours are work. You don't remember the things you hear, because you don't pay attention. 3-7 is light at the end of the tunnel and makes those last few hours whiz by.
Radio sucks so badly today that I would be more than willing to pay for radio where they don't break for 15 minutes at a time so I can now hear the same garbage advertising I get in my email box.
I like the Idea of FoxNews or CNN on the radio where I don't get my news read to me by the fucking Micro Machines man because he has to finish up before Traffic on the Twos! All the while playing that phony sound effect of the Newswire machine ticking away in the background.
If people have grown not to like O&A over the years due to changes in the show as a result of increased popularity and syndication, that's fine. Its your right not to listen. But the best O&A shows I've ever heard are during their climb to the top. They aren't going to turn on a microphone at XM or Sirius and all of a sudden have the same rabid fans at their disposal.
I think the boys are going to come back a little more grass roots. When someone like Anthony who didn't get a god damned haircut for like 25 years and drank boxed wine for years starts smoking Cigs that are 300 bucks a pack, they need a kick in the ass. I think SFS might have accomplished just that.
