I don't think I've ever used the word sub heh....
In this area a "sandwich" is a hoagie. Of course, a sandwich is a sandwich as well. Grinders, I don't eat. Why ruin a perfectly good sandwich by screwing with the most essential component? Bread is the name of the game, and toasting it simply isn't appealing to me at all.
As for Amoroso's bread, it's probably the best mass manufactured bread for Cheesesteaks. That being said, it pales in comparison to bakery bread that any respectable sandwich shop uses. It's not like I won't eat a sandwich without bakery bread (Sarcone's is elite), but it certainly makes for a better hoagie experience.
