I just saw it myself. Definitely an entertaining watch. I laughed quite a bit. It did feel as they followed a particular formula (song in the opening, big number in the end, plenty of pop-culture potshots and disney-mocking) but overall, the script/dialogue/plot was solid.
Now, besides seeing this as just a movie, I tend to try to take in all the geeky aspects of seeing all of these CGI-films, looking for the coolest niftiest tricks they pull using that new-fangled HP technology that the commercial brags about.
Like, I noticed in Toy Story 2, the light rendering was improved 100-fold, soft light and such, it made for a pretty movie.
What I like about this movie over the first, visually speaking, is that the animation was even more fluid than ever and the camera work itself was solid as well.
Lastly, I found that the loyalty of the 3 Blind Mice, the 3 Little Pigs and Pinnochio to Shrek was rather endearing.
Bros before hoes!
