so you misrepresented your company. It's not 'your company's solution' rather 'my fucking lazy ass IT cocksmokers curt solution'

Well essentially i was taking the problem off of myself because it isn't my responsibility to run out and buy this shit. It isn't even the IT guys responsibility. It is the company's. Whether it be the accounting department or the office manager or hell a managing partner. Someone out of those three people is responsible for ordering the product and ultimately signing this check. Not myself. I guess I didn't word it effectively.

Essentially my purpose in posting this topic was to try and find an easy way around all this and save this company a couple hundred bucks that in my opinion (if it were my company) I wouldn't feel necessary to spend. (not that I'm cheap I'm just logical) Unfortunately the responses indicate that there is no comparible free alternative to adobe.

actually I would argue that it's the IT's guy job to argue for the purchase of the software and the actual purchase and implementation. He still would need to get approval for the purchase, but the actual legwork after the job has been approved would be his.

And this only took us a day to hash out.

This guy is a pain. He's one of those IT guys that talks down to people. It's to the point where all of my office's problems go through me first. If I can't solve them then I call him and say here's the problem, I've tried this this this and that and this and the other thing what do you suggest? And he goes "uuuuhhhhhhhhhhhh I'll get back to you on that."
