Getting back to the subject...
I would stand on the kid, it isn't special. The toasted remains can keep my feet warm.

See, that's it though, it's not "a" kid, it's your kid.
Hypothetically, basic primal instincts come into play. Or at least, that was the point of the study. Perhaps it's parental denial, but I don't believe I could.
