bit torrent

i've gotten into this recently. i find it to be an excellent way to download movies. does anyone know of a good site to find high speed torrents? i've been using torrentreactor.net but it seems to be hit or miss. i find the whole thing kind of annoying but it seems easier to find the stuff you want this way these days as opposed to kazaa, etc.

I was going to check this program out, but I started hearing horror stories about it and how unreliable it was.
I'll wait until they work some of the kinks out.

Like what? I've been using bittorrent for over a year now and haven't had any problems...

Like Jimbo said, it's hit and miss and from what I've heard that happens a lot.

To be perfectly honest, I never download full movies and when I do download certain clips, it's very rare. For as often as I do it, it's not worth the aggravation of "hit and miss".

Well I guess it depends on what sites you go to...I know torrentreactor is often down for extended periods, but suprnova has been up and running forever and has a huge selection. There's also a lot of smaller sites that require a login but have a surprising amount of content...it all depends on where you look.

But don't expect them to work the kinks out, the software itself is about as good as it's ever gonna get...

it depends on the client youre using also, I'm still using Shadow's Experimental and it works perfectly.

speed issues are usualyl sue to the number of seeds that youre connected to - if youre behind a firewall, you need to open ports also.

as for whats available, pretty much anything so long as you know where to look. Suprnova is great for new stuff, but the older stuff us usually hard to get because there arent many seeds - and since thats a free or unmodded site, people leech & run. A site liek Sharingthegrrove (a site for sharing/trading concert bootlegs) or Emponium (yes, porn) they monitor your stats - if you leech more than share/seed, youre IP is banned, as are you.

when I fisrt started using it, I hated it - mainly because I wasnt aware of the router/port settings. Once I got that cleared up, I haven't looked back. I've gotten more movies, music & apps from it than anything else. For older stuff, IRC still pretty much rules, however.
