I've already said this, and I say it again:

I see no issue with this at all 420. It's official through the O&A community, they don't need to officially recognize shit.

I'm going to go topless with WOW stickers on my nipples, wear a wig, then race around drunkenly hollering "TAKE THE WIG, TAKE THE WIG" just for sport.

That little bit of info doesn't bother me in the least. I love a challenge.

And if they kick us out, it makes for a good story and we go to another bar. 'Nuff said.

It's not about officially being recognized. No one ever gave a crap about that. The problem is that we don't want to get hassled and/or kicked out.

The event was scheduled as 3pm till closing, which means people can show up at any time. If 50 people show up by 5pm and all get kicked out and go somewhere else, more people will keep showing up at DR, not knowing that they can't go there. Then they get kicked out too, and go somewhere else, that may or not be where everyone else went, or they just go home.

From a planning stance, it would make much more sense to change the venue.

What about Jenkinson's in Pt. Pleasant or Martell's Tiki Bar, also in Pt. Pleasant. I may be mistaken, but I believe they have beach access as well.

No beach access at Bar A.

Doesn't really matter to me, I can go anyway, but I thought I'd offer suggestions.

Good call. You can't actually get on the beach while drinking, but they have wet bars everywhere, and nice decks on the beach so you can drink and enjoy the outdoors. Plus they are A LOT bigger than DR. They probably wouldn't notice a few hundred of us. They get my vote... and they are open early too.

I personally see it as a fun lil' challenge to go to DRs' and see what we could get a way with, the Tradewinds being so close is a great "Plan B" and ultimately...anyone who knows about this gathering found out via these boards or O&A.com.


FTL - we can't get kicked out unless we give them a reason to be kicked out. Unless you show up wearing O&A t-shirts and stickers on your crotch, how else could management identify us?

The only thing we didn't like about Jenkensons & the Tiki Bar is that the atmosphere is a bit "unce unce", ya know? very clubby. DRs has a great laid back atmosphere and I really doubt they will kick any of us out unless we went in there and behaved obnoxiously...and that would warrant getting kicked out of ANY establishment I would gather.

first of all, i never said i was going so why should i give my input? i am just commenting on the turn of events that have taken place.

a lot of planning needs to take place if you are going to do something with "hundreds" of people which I doubt will show up by the way(get 100 if you're lucky). more planning than just talking to the owners of some bar down the shore...when you're dealing with so many people you have to nail down all the logistical details and get it in writing.

and they have every right to kick out anyone they deem undesirable. i don't see the point in showing up there "just to prove a point". Also if you've ever been to an O&A event, which I know you have but that one doesn't count for all 20 or so people that showed up, obnoxiousness runs rampant.

You're the one being an asshole. You fucked up. You did a great job promoting a party that you really didn't get authorized to begin with.

There are tons of bars that would welcome 100+ people coming to drink there for an entire day. If you had mentioned O & A up front, especially considering this was being drummed up everywhere, you would have known from the get go that it was not acceptable there.

As it stands, you have about 2 weeks to fix it.

I suggest you reserve a place other than DR quickly so that all the messageboards can be updated quickly as well as the o&a official board. It can be salvaged but your current plan sucks.

This is people hanging out at an establishment. The establishment's ownership has taken the position that THEY DO NOT WANT A PARTY OF O&A FANS THERE.

They don't need more fucking reason than that - it's like when you were little and your parents would tell you to do something "because I said so"...... being an O&A fan *IS* their reason, and if that's the reason they want to use, they'll do exactly that.

Unless you'd like to risk the chance of fighting between the owners and the police - and judging by your stance on this issue, that's exactly what will happen - I suggest you seriously consider some of the other options posted here.
