No other place nearby offers drinking on the beach...the closest alternative (Tradewinds) doesn't open until 8pm.

The Seagulls Nest, Sandy Hook, drinking on the beach is permitted(although I don't believe you can have bottles), and bonus...you can always move the party down a few more letters to area G-Gunnison beach(yes, naked party)

Silera - I was not the only person to talk to DR management. Ollie did as well. We were both initally told that it was "all good".

I am not trying to pass the buck to Ollie. I'll take my share of the responsibilty for things going awry but I was NOT the only one who tried to make this happen for all of us fans.


I am not about to go and plunk down the little cash that I have and rent a place out in my name only to potentially see random fans show up and trash the place leaving only me responsible. No way am I doing that.

This is why we initally steered away from the notion of actually renting a place.

Now, everyone knows the situation and I've seen some make suggestions for an alternative place. Cool.

However, how is it that its up to solely me to decide where we should now go?

So far, the best alternatives are either the 2 locales in Pt. Pleasant or Bar A in Belmar.

I will call those 3 places and inquire whether or not "our kind" would be allowed to gather at thier establishment.

Sound good? I'll be busy all day tommorrow at a wedding and recoperating (sp?) on sunday. I'll make the phone calls by monday.

It doesn't matter who's at fault. The general idea of a huge cross board get together is great and the fact that this even got a mention on the official site is good.

Fix it quickly and spread the word. No harm no foul.

The best thing is to relocate. Not a good idea to show up at a bar where you're not welcomed and drink. A) They don't deserve your money. B) Drunk O & A fans are a bad idea anywhere.

There are tons of bars that would welcome 100+ people coming to drink there for an entire day. If you had mentioned O & A up front, especially considering this was being drummed up everywhere, you would have known from the get go that it was not acceptable there.

I suggest you reserve a place other than DR quickly so that all the messageboards can be updated quickly as well as the o&a official board. It can be salvaged but your current plan sucks.

I couldn't agree with this whole statement more. It nails it perfectly. Oh, and I assume it is actually Silera since she said I don't know Jersey.

You say we didn't offer any suggestions. Why the hell should we have to when you and Ollie and whoever else said it was all taken care of and cool with the management? Now what about people that may have made reservations close by? That completely fucks up their plans as well. You want to take the responsibility for people having to drive back to whereever they made their reservations if they may be drunk?

It's much bigger than Donovan's Reef which after looking at I considered a shithole anyway. Only problem is that's not necessarily close to DR and screws people that may have already made reservations, but that's on your heads, not mine.

This event was planned with management and the events planner.... I was VERY clear on what we wanted to do and how many people it may involve.....

the problem is the event planner never told one of the owners that we were Opie and Anthony fans.... UNTIL HE FOUND THAT OUT HE WAS FINE WITH THIS.... He learned this after someone posted the info in donvans guestbook and he flipped. I spoke to him last week week and told him we worked this out with his event planner.... Melissa.... And I knew it was approved because she told me she cleared it with you. He told me that she didn't tell him that we were O & A fans. He then said he is disgusted by what they did and wants nothing to do with them or their fans.....

So... this has nothing to do with a lack of planning.... again ... this was well planned... after all i took pictures for the boards of the place inside and out with permission of management while they were present....

this is happening because of some self ritous douchbag who thinks he's better than us.....

We (myself 420 and streamer) will make something work....

I just want everyone to understand that I made it very clear that we were O & A fans in May.... I guess our mistake was asuming we would be treated like anyone else looking to spend money and have a good time.
