Punk Ass Motherfuckin' Kids
#41
My boyfriend and I bought matching switchblades...

Actually, I strived to be a nerd. I faked a foot problem to get orthopedic shoes and I got glasses. I wanted braces but my teeth were perfectly straight and the dentist wouldn't recommend it.

I used to part my hair straight down the side with bangs and wear plaid skirts with ugly vests. I wore skippy sneakers or the plastic water sandals when not in school.

I never really cared what anyone thought of me, so no one ever bothered to pick on me.

In high school, I was either totally village and bought my stuff at urban outfitters or unique or thrift shops or totally thug and wore timberland boots and triple fat goose jackets.

I think kids pick up on fear, like animals. If you want acceptance they'll make you work for it.

I was born with the "I do not give a fuck" mentality.

Just to be clear, Brokenjaw made the call to the police, not me. I called the mother.

When I went to the police station to sign the complaint (which won't be ready until at least Saturday), I overheard the younger (24-ish) dispatcher on the phone about another kid. When she hung up, I said, "The kids in this town are trouble, huh?" Her reply? "Welcome to (my town)."

I understand the whole take down the biggest kid theory. The problem is, I don't think the other kids back down anymore, which then leads to a pile-on (dog pile on the rabbit).

I spoke to the principal this morning to alert him to any possible trouble. He has a zero tolerance for bullies...probably spurred on by the recent legislation against bullies.

As for my son learning to keep his mouth shut and his nose out of everyone else's business? No matter how many times I tell him...I think I have a better chance of meeting God.

:disappointed: Screw you.

I didn't have to try.

But they only ever picked on me once.

I was a professional new kid, (10 schools) so I knew what it was like to have people start shit with you. After 3rd grade, I treated every new school like going to prison, (yeah, i know, its a freebie) I would pick the baddest kid in school and start a fight with him. Gave me instant notoriety and ensured no one fucked with me.

Sorry, as soon as I read this, this was the first thing that popped into my head. Big Grin

It's been a few days now since my original post on this. The officer who took the report was back in the office today for the first time since Monday.

I'm second guessing myself now. I'm wondering if I really should sign the complaint, or if maybe just the fact that the kid has a police report on him might be enough to scare him. I mean, I hate that the kid could end up with a juvenile record, but with the way most kids are these days, maybe that's what it will take.

I'm contemplating calling the mother tomorrow and talking to her.

HELP!!!!!

Speaking to the mom sounds like a good step. Find out if the kid seems remorseful for his actions (or at the very least he knows not to mess with your son again). Tell her you're considering dropping the charges, feeling that her kid has gotten the message about consequences. And, if need be, remind her that a similar incident down the road will result in charges being filed, with no chance for consideration.

I believe I have up to a year to sign a formal complaint.

The officer told Brokenjaw that if it was HIS son, he'd file a complaint because "this shit's gotta stop". My son's karate instructor also said to file.

I'm so confuseled.:disappointed:

Brain brings up a good point. Speak to the kids mother first and if she gives you crap, screw it file the charges.

We're not gonna blame you, even if you are an accessory... But we will not except your natural order. We didn't come for absolution, we didn't ask to be redeemed. But isn't how it is, every goddamn time... Your prayers are always answered, in the order they're received...

From what I saw of her on Monday, I think she'll be appreciative. Unlike another parent who gave me the "boys will be boys" line of shit and made me feel like an idiot.

We'll see what happens. I just don't want the kid to think he's getting off scott free.
