Bad enough he dresses up as a forgotten comic book character...
ELLSWORTH, Maine (AP) -- A high school student's ``Swamp Thing'' costume of leaves and sticks caught fire during a Halloween assembly Thursday as his classmates watched in horror, and the boy was hospitalized with burns.
Police investigating why the costume erupted in a ball of flames said they were questioning another student from Ellsworth High.
The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was burned on his back, legs and head, Lt. Harold Page said. His condition was not disclosed.
The entire school _ about 400 students, many in costume _ was at the ``Spook Day'' assembly in the school gymnasium when the flames broke out at the top of the bleachers.
Some people initially thought it was a joke when they saw the flames. Then students bolted for the exits in a panic.
The victim ran down to the floor, where students and a school worker used blankets and a fire extinguisher to smother the flames.
