If a person on welfare buys a ticket with welfare money, and wins, do we all (taxpayers) get a piece of it. After all it was our money that paid for it. Welfare money is not for gambling. It's for food and rent and stuff like that.

I see a section on repaying outstanding student loans with your winnings. Didn't see anything regarding welfare.

If you planned on winning the lottery yeah. I always figured it to be a given that the first thing any of my hypothetical lottery winnings are going towards is my debt.

But maybe it's just me. I don't play the lottery anyway so it's moot.
