Quote:Did you ever see Showtime w/Eddie Murphy & Robert DeNiro? I actually saw it to see how bad it would be, and man, that was horrible. Not only the storyline, but the pairing of 2 completley opposite acting styles
that is a great example. what a horrible movie.. There are some exeptions to the rule, such as the original Beverly Hills Cop.

Ever see "15 Minutes"?
It wasn't all that bad, but Ed Burns wasn't a cop. He was a fire marshall, I think....

I hate how they show the same sex scene from three different angles and then loop it, and make it look like the guy last real long.

I hate almost every movie being put out today, the majority of it is tailored to the teen pop sensation. All these simplistic formulatic films and all the sappy chick flicks which people call "original". These films are as original as wolfgang puck making scrambled eggs and calling it his finest creation. All the hillary duff, ashton kutcher, J LO, Mandy Moore, etc films.
And ofcourse they make fazools in the theaters. The only single reason Gigli didnt make a gazillion dollars is because it became "cool" to hate gigli cause everyone else did, not cause it really did suck but because everyone was saying so, so it was deemed the "in" thing not to go see it. I have seen neither but I am quite sure gigle couldn't have been worse than "maid in manhaten" but that made a killing.
I am exhausted of these over budget films as well, no one wants to take risks in hollywood anymore with the exception of Lord Of The Rings and that paid off in spades. But there are no maverick directors left anymore, even the old ones have conformed to the standards. Everything has to be a proven formula for the most part.
Don't get me wrong once in a while an original idea or film will come along but then a sequel or several come out that dillude the originals impact. Like the american pie films, the american pie sequel might as well been called "the stifler movie".
We need the old take chance, I don't need 140 million to make a film, type directors. The Ted Demme's, The John Hustons, the old scorsese.
and once in a while you get that gem of a film that didn't have a huge cast or big budget but just blew you away. This year we had 2 grams, which was an astonishing film but not much hype or big budget but it delivered as a film tenfold.

We are the music-makers, And we are the dreamers of dreams, Wandering by lone sea-breakers, And sitting by desolate streams; World-losers and world-forsakers, On whom the pale moon gleams: Yet we are the movers and shakers Of the world for ever, it seems.</marquee>

I hate it when the slutty stupid twat who is in a world of hurt because of a thousand bad decisions based on her shallow ego ends up with the sweet smart safe inteligent boy.
