Todd Zeile? Karim Garcia?
#1
ESPN, and the New York Mets web site are reporting that both Todd Zeile and Karim Garcia are taking physicals next week and then are going to sign contracts with the mets.

no.. zeille would be coming off the bench to fill both first and third, and garcia would be the starting right fielder.

They need to keep Zeile in one damn place. He's like a fuckin' hobo for MLB.

I'll take Garcia over Cedeno, but I would take Timo over both of them. I don't think the Mets dropped the ball on Guerrero, as much as they didn't want to spend what he was asking. He could have done the right thing and taken less money to go to the NL and to a town with a big Dominican population like we have here, but no, he went the way of a lot of people that fuck up baseball. He went to the money. Fuckin skell. As for Zeile, he'll be Wiggies' backup.

It wasn't the money as much as it was the term of the contract, the mets knew damn well he would never sign a 3 year deal. He wanted 8 years but would settle for 5-6 but not 3.

If Garcia ever gets a 500-AB season he will be a .280-30-90 hitter, at least. Not with the Mets though, of course. Rarely has anybody ever reached their full potential while a member of the Mets.
