I killed a mouse last night. I'm really not a violent person by nature, although there was that one time I broke my hand on somebody's face, but I digress. The little fucker was running around, and it was either smack him with the magazine (which I was holding in a effort to corner him and get him into the paper bag I had in the other hand) or let him get away. Oh, and just for the record, he got away the other day despite my best efforts of chasing him around the kitchen in an effort to get him outside. So, I smacked him and I think I stunned him pretty good. But, he wasn't dead yet. I got scared that he'd escape, and it was also rather disturbing to see his little legs moving while the rest of him was still, so I smacked him again. He died.
BUT. he has friends. Can anyone tell me which traps work best? I don't like of any of them, but I also don't like the idea of mice in my house.
So, anyone else got anything to confess?

Smacking him with a magazine? I think you'd need something a bit stronger.

That might work. Why don't you give it to SLASH, and he can try it out today.

Your best bet is the regular neck snapping traps.
The humane one are nice to the mouse, but you have to then take the whole trap in the car to someplace far far away to let Mr. Mouse out, or else he'll just find his way back to your nice warm house.
The sticky ones are cruel, because Mr. Mouse will just chew his legs off to get away and no one likes to find a trap with just mouse feet on it.
Go with the neck snappers...you'll get used to it.
In my old house, whenever I heard the SNAP I was like "YEAH!!!" I had a tally sheet on the refrigerator.
Good luck!

Go buy yourself a BB or Pellet gun, and shoot the little fuckers. You might as well have some fun while you're at it.

I must confess... I also LOVE that sound. In the house I lived in years ago, I set traps in the garage and you could hear it snap from anywhere in the house.
*SNAP* "Yessss!!" (runs to the garage to evaluate the damage)

I found the glue traps to be most effective.
The snap ones misfired often. I NEVER hand a mouse chew it's legs off to escape. While it might be a more painful death. I hate hate hate mice. They are fucking dirty little shits and I get skeeved when I see droppings in my house.

I thought I had a mouse in my apartment awhile ago so I bought the glue traps. But all I caught was a 2 inch water bug or it might have been a cockroach. I really didn't stare at it for a long time..
Once the mouse is in the glue trap, how long does it take to die?
