Radio tags, supercharged versions of the barcode.
Has anyone been keeping up with the push for these things? Wal-Mart is one of the biggest retailers pushing for them. It's suppose to be helpful for inventory and all that other good shit.
Personally, I'm not too crazy about the idea of a "Super Barcode". I'm sure it will be a huge money/time saver for inventory purposes.
However, there have been NO guarantee that the store is going to disable them once an item is purchased. Also, they're suppose to be placed into Drivers Licenses, Credit Cards and other forms of ID.
Can you say 1984 twenty years later.

Anthony's head must have exploded upon hearing this news. Remember his rant about SpeedPass wands at the gas station? People willingly wearing a transponder on their keychain because it saves them a few seconds at the gas station. Wonder how he would feel about having them on his can of Coke?
This is some scary shit, though, with the children being tagged in the Japanese schools. How long before their bookbags & shirt collars aren't enough because they fall off, or the kids don't carry their bag with them all the time...and we move right ahead into skin tagging?

The VeriChip company already has a GPS enabled chips ready to put into your skin.
The first to be tagged will be the "children". It will be for their own good, (or at least that's what they'll be told). The sad part is some parents will willingly go along with it.
But when will they ever be taken out?
Do we really need companys keeping detailed databases about our lives? I think not.
