Deja Vu... Old men and Farmer's markets
#1
Quote:FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. — An elderly man apparently lost control of his car and plowed into a northern Florida farmer's market (search) Friday, injuring at least six people, police said.

The six people were brought to hospitals, but police did not have details of their injuries, said Flagler Beach (search) police official Donna Kearney. She had no further details.

Officers were on the scene investigating the crash, about 75 miles south of Jacksonville.

Last week, an 86-year-old driver plowed into a farmer's market outside Los Angeles, killing 10 and injuring 69.

Damnit, this is a worse epidemic than hispanic women driving with duct tape holding their vehicles together.

Boy the way Glen Miller played,
songs that made the hit parade,
guys like us we had it made,
those were the days,
and you know where you were then,
girls were girls and men were men,
mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again,
didn't need no welfare states
everybody pulled his weight,
gee our old Lasalle ran great,
those were the days!

We did a thread about this a few weeks ago about old people driving. There was an article I read in the paper the day after the Santa Monica accident about how this one old lady turned in her keys after she realized she couldn't do it anymore. I say mandatory tests for people over 65 every 18 months to 2 years as opposed to every 5(which I think is how it is here in NY) You can't see right, you lose your license
I'm not quite there yet
