Eureka (AP) - - In a case of life imitating art, Humboldt County officials say teen-agers are staging after-school brawls reminiscent of the movie "Fight Club.
The fights aren't over a girl or an insult. Instead, they're for entertainment - and gambling.
John Turner of the Eureka Police Department says the fights usually are bare-knuckle - and have a great potential for serious injury.
He says there have been four prearranged fights in the Eureka area in the past two weeks.
Authorities believe the movie inspired the brawls.
Once again it's the "blame the media" fever we're in, I mean it's the authorities who believe it was, according to this the kids didn't even say Fight Club inspired them. Besides gambling would be against the FC philosophy
