in all seriousness, i heard over the weekend, that the arab world as a whole, doesn't want peace, with israel or america. of the three major religions, judaism, christianity, and islam, only islam is living in the past. the jews have the messaih(sp?) to look forward to. the christians have the resurection(sp), but islam, is a religion in the past. that's what caused sept 11, the fact that we, america, have modernized. the arabs said that in exchange for land, lost by the arab world, in the past, they will make peace with israel. if someone can explain to me id the muslims have something in the future to look forward to, it would enlighten me. other wise, how can a religion survive with no future hopes?

both sides are at fault here. i wish they would just lock them all inside that country and let them battle it out without getting anyone else involved. unfortunately we will somehow get pulled into it, as we have already and the terrorism you see over there will become even more common here. part of the reason for the attacks on 9/11 are retailiation for the united states backing the jews in israel. its time for our country to stop playing the world police force and protect our own asses. if these morons want to kill each other, thats their business, dont drag us into it.

unfortunately, a war would be the best thing that could happen to the entire middle east. the plo keeps blaming sharon, and cry that they're under "occupation". it has nothing to do with sharon, it has nothing to do with the "occupation". they could have settled these things 2 years ago, and chose not to. the rest of the arab world, would like nothing more than for israel to diasppear, sadam and syria both out right refused the arab league summit/saudi peace plan to normalize relations with israel. if there would be a war, i am possitive that iraq and iran would be fully involved in this war, and i think only then, who ever ends up alive, keeps the land. but i think people thought the same way in 1948, 1956, 1967, and 1973. how many more wars can there be for people to recognize the jews right to exist with a homeland? a homeland with or without a palestinian state next door.

Many of those wars you mentioned were started by Israel. And Iran is hesitant to go to war because their population is most decidely more liberal than the clerics. A war would not be good for them as it has the possibility of eroding their power base.

am, i urge you to re-read your history books, the arabs, syria, jordan, egypt, iraq, and saudi arabia, started fighting the "new immigrants" of israel in may 1948. the israelis ardly had any weapons. that's why they consider their victory a true miracle.
in 1967, jordan, egypt, syria, and lebenon (for a minute) took up arms against israel, and by the time american troops came, the war was over.
in 1973, on yom kippur, egypt and syria in a surprise attack, began fighting with israeli troops simulatniously in the golan hights and the sinai. a truce was called to end that war. less than 6 years later, israel and egypt made peace with eachother.

In 48 the Israelis had a lot more artillery than what was said. It is a myth that the Israelis had a weaker military. The Arabs did not care too much of the cause and the Israelis had more soldier.

67 was started by Israel because they said egypt and syria were "were rolling their tanks along their bordrs" so they had to attack.

73 was the cause of Arabs however.

am, i recently read a great book, the letters of a hero: letters of yonaton netanyahu. in this book, he was in the army in 1967, and he wrote letters to his parenst and brothers who were in america at the time. in the months before the war, he wrote about how the arabs were attacking everyday there was another attack, and they've become even more brutal. it's kinds scary how similar the situation was in the months before both the '67 and '73 wars, and the samething is happening today. if the arabs didn't "declare" all out war on june 6, 1967, they came very close to it in the months before.
