Hey at least I'm not still around waiting for my messiah to come for the FIRST time. All the jesus-lovers are smart since they are waiting for the second time. And if math is correct 2 > 1.
but we jews believe that once the messiah comes there will be peace on earth!! i'd rather wait for that to heppen, than have my god nailed to a board! ouch!!!
Jesus had the Jew factor but also he has the math.

bringing this back up!!
ok, in 1948, the arab world felt threatened by the israelis moving into the west bank and jerusalem, and therefore war began. that is not normal, you can't try to confine people, and keep them to one area, before they even have a state. now i know that many of you right now are asking what is the difference between the israelis in '48 and the palestinians today. good question. the palestinains that were there in 1948, were not in the west bank, they were in tel aviv, jaffa, hiafa, netanya, pre67 israel. after the war, jordan took the west bank, syria kept the golan, and egypt took gaza. in 1967, the situation was eerily similar to today's situation, and israel after 6 days of fighting, took the west bank, where the jordainians fled from, gaza, where the israeli army made it into ciaro, whcih we left as soon as the war was over, ans the golan hights and gallilee, making it almost into damaskas.
if the jordanians want the west bank back, by all means, they have a right, arafat and his henchmen have no ties to that land. he equally would like to take over jordan, or trans jordan from 1948. the palestinians in the west bank and gaza today, were jordanina refugees from 1972, when jordan threw them out, and lebennon from 1982. who are these regugees, islamic jiahad, hamas, force 17, tanzim, and black september - all these groups have been on the US terror list since the 1980's.
WAKE UP, this isn't a problem about "occupation" this war is to distroy an entire nation, just like all the other wars in the past.

Why do some people pretend history began in 1948?
Well, isn't that when Magellen discovered America, Ken?
I thought it was Ponce De Leon.
ken how far back would you like to go? crusades? the jews didn't start that war, yet they were dragged into it cuz they were in living in israel or the holyland, whatever the hell it was called back then. wanna go even further back? to the times of joshua? since the jews came into the land of israel with joshua, there have always been jews in jerusalem, safed, and hebron.
I watched King of Kings Sunday and it reminded me of the battle for Jerusalem that still exists today. It also reminded me if the Jews would have just accepted Jesus as the Messiah, they could be eating bread today and we would be living in peace. But oh well, they didn't and we have this mess.

Now with no offense intended to my Jewish friends, there will never be peace in the region because the Isrealis will not allow it. The only settlement is to allow the Palestinians to have a state that they are entitled too. The only state they want, is land occupied by Isreal, in particular Jerusalem. This is a no win. The truth is, until something catastrophic happens in the region, there will be no peace. Until tens of thousands die, neither side will be willing to budge.

You are forgetting that in Roman times there were hundreds of Jews claiming to be the Messiah so this was casual.
True, but that is part of the problem. Not accepting Jesus was their failure. Remeber, on Good Friday, the begining of Passover that year, Jews asked Pilot to free Barabas instead of Jesus. They felt Barabas was better suited to free them from the Roman's than Jesus. The main reason most Jews rejected Jesus was because he refused to strike down Roman oppression. It's always about their oppression.
Maybe they were scared by the fact that Jesus likes young boys.

Quote:Residents are running out of food and water. The hospital is running out of supplies, too — of food, medicine, bandages, even disposable gloves. Its morgue, with 25 bodies, is full, and the Israelis will not let the bodies be buried.
Yeah, that's not pissing people off even more.

Quote:About 2 a.m., Israeli tanks and infantry, with helicopters flying overhead, began their attack on Mr. Rajoub's palatial hilltop compound, a state-of-the-art security complex widely believed to have been built with financial help from the United States. The compound had been surrounded by tanks for several days, and the Israeli Army had been putting out word that about 50 wanted men were inside. There were said to be about 400 people in the compound, although Mr. Rajoub himself was not there.

"They are shooting, shooting," said a deputy to Mr. Rajoub, Abu Osama, in a brief, tense cellphone conversation from inside the compound. "Tanks and snipers."

Mr. Rajoub, like his counterpart in the Gaza Strip, Muhammad Dahlan, had been a crucial figure in the American-sponsored Israeli-Palestinian security cooperation. On a shelf in his huge office, he kept a picture of George J. Tenet, the Central Intelligence Agency director, and a piece of Jerusalem stone, a gift from Avi Dichter, the head of Israel's secret internal security service, Shin Bet.

Always a good idea to attack one of your few potential allies to capture criminals who ARE ALREADY IMPRISONED.

Quote:A body of mediators from the United Nations, the United States, the European Union and Russia was barred by Israel from coming here to meet Mr. Arafat. Israel insisted that it wanted to keep the Palestinian leader on the sidelines.

"Yasir Arafat is in isolation, and he is going to remain so until the end of the terrorist threat," said Ranaan Gissin, an adviser to Mr. Sharon.
Yup, not allowing any negotiation is a REALLY good policy.

And everyone forgets how this all started. A hardline Isreali general walked in with armed guards and disrespected a Mosque. That led to rock throwing, which led to an armed Isreali response, which led to more violence, and on and on.

Did Isreali apologize for the disrespect? No. It would have been so easy to offer a public apology and settle things down, but they didn't. Instead they used the violence as an excuse to try to seize more land. Did anyone else see the footage of Isreali bulldozers destroying thousand year old caves burying livestock, food supplies, and other personal belongings inside these caves that had been used by Palestinian shephards for centuries? Or how the Isreali forces destroyed tons of infrastrucure every time they pull out of an area they occupied?

And has anybody else heard about the Isreali forces shooting at Palestinian AMBULANCES?

BOTH sides in this conflict are to blame. Islam was founded by JIHAD, a religious war that raged from the Middle East to the Sahara dessert. Of course they will respond to a threat with violence. It's PREDICTABLE. And anything that's predictable can be dealt with and usually avoided.

As for Arafat, he's an INEFECTIVE leader. But in this climate, he's a MODERATE compared to the extremists. Do you really think the extremists wouldn't kill HIM if they thought he went too soft? He's walking a razor's edge between seeking peace and keeping the extemists in line. He's doing a HORRIBLE job of it, but he's the only one trying. Remove him from power by force and you create a power vaccuum that will be filled by whichever extremist yells loud enough and waves the biggest gun. Then you'll really have problems.

EDIT - And does anybody remember the three weeks back in December when there WASN'T any violence (except a few sporadic shootings?) when nothing was accomplished. Another opportunity blown by both sides. How much credibility did that cost Araftat with the extremists when he convinced them to stop and then came back with nothing?

The facts here are simple. The Isreali's have a right to defend themselves against terroisim. Nobody really questions that. However, the solution to this problem will require that Isreal give up land and recognize Palestine as an independent state, which they will never do. The fact that the Isreali's voted Sharon into power demonstrates their desire is to exterminate the Palestinians. The Jews desiring toexterminate a civilization. Ironic isn't it.
:roflmao: This is some dirty war...

hy dent, are you aware that the palestinians claimed that sharon's going to the temple mount, a place holy to both jews and muslims, was an excuse to start their violence? pres clinton has documents that were sent to him by israeli intelligence with arafat's signature on them allowing for the militants to start their intifada?
in 1996, then prime minister went on a tour to the soloman tunnels, and the palestinians began a mini war that lasted only 2 months. this war has nothing to do with "occupation" it's a war to distroy a nation and religion. the plo charter calls for the distruction of all jews, everywhere, especially in the holyland. giving them a state, means nothing to them, as long as jews are in the holyland, they will be persecuted.
i've been to the sinai and i've been to petra, the arabs there relay on tourists to make a living, the whole arab world treats their peopl like shit. the palestinians havelived under palestinian control since 1995, yet they continue to live like shit. pleanty of palestinains worlked in israel until the current war, why can't they work in their own land? if they would work and build their own land up, then they have nothing to cry about. yet they won't do that.
ponderous, f'ing ponderous!
Hey Twat,
Have the Jews ever resorted to terrorism to get there way?
What happened in the King David Hotel in 1946?
you can count the jews who have resorted to terrorism in the last 1000 years on maybe both hands, how many thousands of arabs have been "martyred" for killing civillians, including the assholes from sept 11.
