because life is a popularity contest. He's pretty and charming and nice and so he gets votes.
Who cares that he is merely a "good" hitter and "below average" fielder. He's a "great" guy.
then how do you explain gruddy winning?

Do you honestly believe he was the best defensive shortstop in the AL this year?
That does not support your silly comment that winning the gold glove makes him look ridiculous, that was such a moronic thing to post.
what a loser, he won a gold glove LOL!
it does make him look ridiculous, because he's not even close to being the best defensive shortstop in the american league.
its fucking laughable.
its like voting the ugliest girl in school prom queen.
DJ won. he rules, you suck. nuff said.

that is beyond silly, like at the end of his career people will say, jeter was a 20 time all star, won several gold gloves, world series, regular and post season mvp, one of the greatest short stops of all time.... remember that time he won a gold glove in 2006, what a stupid ass!!!
so you're telling me they should hand out gold gloves for past achievement in areas other than defense?
I don't think Jeter is the best defensive shortstop in the American League, but he has been the MVP of Major League Baseball for the past decade. The only other player who has been close to Jeter in terms of consistency at the highest level is that fucking psychopath Manny Ramirez. David Wright looked like a helpless douchebag all postseason long by the way.

no, I have been asking you for the last several posts to defend or at least explain the absurdity of your comment on how him winning a gold glove makes him look ridiculous.
The Gold Glove is the least important, most roundly ignored post-season award in MLB. Who gives a fuck who wins Gold Gloves?

no, thats the roberto clemente award
I'm talking about serious awards. Gold Glove means about as much as Comeback Player of the Year.
By the way, the most overrated player in MLB is that gap-toothed gorilla Big Sloppy. I'm not sure it's even right to call Sloppy a baseball player, and I'm a fan of the DH. The fat fuck is the third coming of George Scott (Mo Vaughn came before Sloppy & slots in at #2).
If MLB had a Lady Byng award it would have went to Mark Loretta this year.

Bullshit.
I fail to see even a semblence of an argument that could convince anyone that the gap tooth silverback is overrated.

Sloppy's has had an inferior career to Jason Giambi at this point, and there is nothing to indicate he'll amount to more than Vaughn or Scott. Look at the numbers. He's a low-octane version of Juan Gonzales.
Since when has the MVP Award become the exclusive domain of power bats?
Also, folks, when it comes to post-season awards, there has historically been a huge anti-Yankee backlash, and it's not just because New York is a two-team town. Andy Pettitte definitely deserved the AL Cy Young in '96 and got robbed. Remember who got the award that year? The great Pat Hentgen. Rivera should have won last year, too.
The court is still out for me whether or not Jeter is a nigger or a spic. All this other stuff can wait for the bureaucracy to run it's course.
