I was just saying, "it's only a matter of time before the conversation gets bogged down by some pointless emoticon reply or zany sentence.

Ok you win.
You know what else, I heard that suckin the leaky fluids out of an open herpes sore... not a smart move.

"Navin, I'd love you if you were the color of a baboon's ass. "

Strangely appropriate.
OUCH, that burned.
devotchka Wrote:I dont wish him dead or anything... I dont blame him for wanting to live either... I just think getting aids is bad and since we see more of magic than we do of people who are really suffering and dying from aids, then it's really not a good thing for kids because they dont know the fear that we all knew growing up seeing Freddie, and Ryan White and countless others. No kid is going to know who either of those people are, but I'll bet you they know who Magic Johnson is.
You have a point and i'm sure he's helping a lot of people, but he is also helping the image of the disease and that is not a good thing in my opinion.

I think it's not so much for people who don't have HIV than it is for people that do. For the 80's, all people knew of the virus was that if you got it, you're gone. Now, for people that do have it, at least they have someone, in a high profile, that is living with it, and is still having a life. If anything, Magic give people with HIV and AIDS hope that they can still have a life, and not be relegated to a death sentence. Before Magic, all they saw was Freddy Mercury and Rock Hudson.
jays is my cliffs notes.
