never touch a new OS when it first comes out. you are asking for trouble. Mac, PC, windows, whatever, tend to be very buggy with all sorts of critical security flaws. Buy your computer with whatever it comes with...best choice: XP Professional.
How different can Vista actually be? How much better? They should just focus their energy on improving XP instead of trying to milk everyone out of more money.
XP is fine, I've had no problems with it.
I must agree, xp is much better than windows 98.
