HBO is about the only cable channel i wouldn't drop. Showtime, Starz, etc is completely worthless..but with HBO's originals plus UFC/boxing/whatever...at least its something. VS (formerly OLN) which has NHL hockey will be running the new WEC (World Extreme Cagefighting) which is now owned by UFC. So, with them, along with Spike (and FoxSports for Pride highlights) at least some choices.
1. HBO
2. Starz
3. Showtime
4. Cinemax
i don't have any of the other garbage channels just hbo. I originally started with showtime becuase they had some kind of 6 month special thing when i first had cable installed in the apt. Now just have hbo and high speed internet on top of the basic cable service, but i think hbo is the most expensive of the 3.
I thought you were rich now, Mr. Caddilac Man.
How do you pay $140 a month for only HBO?
I pay $160 and I have every pay channel + wireless internet.
I miss having Time Warners Digital Best package...that was the shizznit. Now we have Cablevision...HD is free..err except for the HD DVR box...and have HBO, Starz, Encore, internet...costs about $120 or so.
Comcast are a bunch of theives. I don't mind paying for anything but I hate those cunts.
Have you guys heard about the "underground" MMA in Brooklyn? I don't know if it's illegal "underground" or just really bad amateur thug" "underground".
A buddy of mine mentioned it to me, and wanted to catch a night of fights.

i'd have to agree with that. At least Starz plays SOME relevent movies. Showtime is really useless...EXCEPT for a couple original stuff and boxing once in a while.

There is a resurgence of Club Fights in NYC and North Bergen, NJ...they can range from kickboxing, boxing, MMA, etc. Didn't hear about the Brooklyn one. But not surprised. Its prob legit...in terms of it being like from a bunch of local fighting schools or something.

Randy Couture unretires to face....
Heavyweight Champ; Tim Sylvia
There is a rumor that UFC, yesterday, bought PRIDE. If so, it would likely be run automously, just like what UFC is doing with the WEC. The rumor is unsubstantiated currently, but the people giving the info has given rumors before that indeed come to fruition. So, not a bad source. We shall see.
I'd rather not see Couture fight again, but buying pride is the best move they could ever possibly make. MMA will be the biggest sport behind football if they play their cards right.
News-THQ announced today that they have signed a five year deal with UFC to do their video games. THQ does WWE's games also.
i can't stand their new smackdown games. their n64 games were way better
id love a n64 style ufc game.
hopefully ufc buying pride wont end like wwf buying wcw. too many people with not enough show. i guess mma doesnt really need as much time for storylines though so it should be sweet.
Pride/UFC rumors are still abound..but nothing concrete still.
UFC Fight Night tonight on Spike 8-10pm
nice little card too...just before this they replayed the franklin-silva fight. Man, did he get fucked up
Heath Herring sure sucked.
He's a fat redneck loud mouth. Rashad's a monster though.
