i'm psyched
10 minutes til showtime!

IT'S.... TIIIIIME!
Travis Lutter doesn't make weight? What a fucking disgrace. I really hope he dies in the ring.
overall, not the best of PPVs but still a good watch. Rampage takes out Eastman. Lutter couldn't take advantage vs Silva...he dropped the ball not just once, but twice. Crocop just destroyed Sanchez. couple of the end fights they threw on was entertaining...and i won the poker tournie. Go me.
I was almost tempted to rent Pride 33 but the last two sucked however this one seemed pretty good. Henderson knocks out Silva, Diaz gogoplata's (sp?) Gomi, Lil Nog got KO'd by some bozo. Thank god for youtube - sift right through 4 hours of bullshit and see all the highlights.

Won't be missing UFC next week. Great great card.
Missed it also, but also saw via youtube. Gomi has always been tremendously overrated, and UFC journeyman Diaz beating him is just a huge indicator how much better the UFC top welterweights really are. Silva's second knockout in these last few months...1st one was a vicsious kick to the head by Mirko Crocop.

UFC March 3rd card will include the following fights:

UFC 68: THE UPRISING featuring
UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim “The Maine-iac” Sylvia vs. Randy “The Natural” Couture
Rich “Ace” Franklin vs. Jason “The Athlete” MacDonald and Matt Hughes vs. Chris “Lights Out” Lytle.

Also on the card are exciting match-ups Drew McFedries vs. Martin Kampmann; Jason Lambert vs. Renato Sobral; Columbus native Rex Holman vs. Matt Hamill; Luigi Fioravanti vs. Jon Fitch; Gleison Tibau vs. Jason Dent and Jason Gilliam vs. Jamie Varner.

It is the first UFC offered in HD for $10 more. Too bad the Plasma HDTV is in the bedroom.

The suggested retail price for Standard Definition is $39.95and $49.95 for HD.
Unbelievable final fight. Randy HW champ of the world beats Tim Sylvia, who was 13 years younger, bigger and 40 lbs heavier. Beats him like a bitch. Great PPV
Best fight I've ever seen. Couture is just amazing.
not sure how long this will still be a working link but...

There are two...TWO?!?! reports that the owners of Zuffa (UFC) just bought PRIDE for a measely $64 million

http://ufcjunkie.com/
It's official:

FERTITTAS BUY PRIDE

The Japanese newspapers reported today in Tokyo, Japan that the UFC has bought Pride. The UFC/Pride rumor has been circulating for awhile, but the deal appears to be done. One of the newspapers in Japan, SportsHochi, reported that the Fertittas, who owns Zuffa which operates the UFC, will start a new company thus disbanding DSE(Dream Stage Entertainment, which has been the company that Pride has operated under). DSE/Pride President Nobuyuki Sakikabara, who brought Pride to the United States and was successful in making the Pride brand one of the most compelling MMA promotions in the world, is reportedly resigning from his position.

The new company that Pride will operate under apparently will not be run by UFC or Zuffa, but will be it's own entity owned by the Fertittas. Thus Pride and the UFC being run separately. But, it is being reported that the two promotions will do a joint super show once a year. SportsHochi reports that Pride 34 on 4/8 will be the last Pride show run by DSE.

So will Pride be a Japanese or a United States promotion? Apparently, Pride looks to continue to do shows in both Japan and the United States. Intentions are to still have the Light Weight Grand Prix starting in May. The GP being made up of 3 shows, all taking place in Japan. And, the New Years Eve show is still in the plans to take place in Japan. There are also plans to do 2-3 more shows in the United States this year.

There will be a press conference held in Tokyo, Japan at the Roppongi Hills Arena on Tuesday 3/27 which will be open to the press and fans alike.
