Venus:
Peter O' Toole will get the best actor nod, and perhaps the Oscar this year. Basicially an old cranky man gets the hots for a young babe in this film.
Letters from Iwo Jima:
The better Clint Eastwood film this year than the substandard Flags of Our Fathers is this tale told from the Japanese point of view. Most are considering this a masterpiece.
Pan's Labyrinth:
Guillermo del Toro makes a gothic fairy tale set in the postwar Spain. A mix of horror, fantasy, and history.
Children of Men:
See our gritty bleak future in 27 years in this cross between War of the Worlds, Bladerunner and V for Vendetta.
The Good Shepard:
No Godfather of the CIA like the ads say, but still an engrossing tale of Cold War Mischief and the birth of the CIA directed by Booby D.
