With the upcoming holiday and nice weather, just started thinking:

What is the ultimate menu for a bar-b-q?

Chicken? Ribs? Burgers? Macaroni salad? Fish?

What'll it be?
Grilled Chicken & Corn on the Cob, Fresh Fruit Salad...
Tenderloin & Molsons.
Babies!

Nice grilled baby, with a nive bbq rub.

Mmmmm.....
Homemade Lemonade
Over the weekend I served:

Marinated Tri-Tip
Marinated Chicken Breasts
Corn on the Cob
Pasta Salad
Baked Beans
Green Salad with fresh from my garden tomatoes and cucumbers

No one left hungry....:-D

Thin sliced steak marinated in Heineken.
Honey mustard chicken.
Rack of ribs.
Cheddarwurst. (If you haven't had it, you haven't lived)
Home made german potato salad with bacon and onion fried into it.
Macaroni salad and coleslaw.
Fresh watermelon.
Cheeseburgers and hotdogs.
Ice cream.

Now THAT'S a party.
Someone told me they saw this on the Food Network...

You can use Coca-cola as a meat tenderizer. Aparently the acid in coke breaks down the protein in beef, in particular, rather effectively. They warned that Pepsi is a bit too sweet and that Coke is the way to go.

Anyone tried this?

Does it work?

Does it taste like like crap?

I'm not gonna try it first... So, it's up to you guys...

Corn on the cob (Soaked in ice water for 20 minutes with the husks still on, then on the grill still in the husks for 10 minutes :thumbs-up: )
Pasta Salad with green and red peppers, and green and black olives, covered with olive oil and vingar and fresh garlic.

Coca-Cola does work...

Try DL Jardines fajita marinade for the steaks...you'll never use anything else once you try it :-)
You people all disappoint me.... it simply is not the 4th without good old fashioned southern hospitality!

Ribs.... Memphis style with sauce so sweet it will make you cream your pants, yet hot enought to peel the paint off the neighbors house.
Alabama baked beans with bacon and sweet bbq
Southern Comfort fruit salad
the usual favorites, burgers, dogs, potato salad, macaroni salad DEVILED EGGS by the ton, corn on the cob etc...
Greens....lots of greens
Cornbread
But no cookout is ever complete without crawdads..... that's right posers..... sissies grill shrimp, real men eat crawdads!
