The Rangers signed Darius Kasparaitis, outbidding the Maple Leafs for his services.
They still have a huge hole in goal, considering Sather's gambit for CuJo blew up in his face. Hopefully, Sather will beg and plead Richter to come back, rather than watching him sign with the flyers and leaving them with a good team with NOTHING in the net. (Blackburn is still way too young)
I think that Sather should make an attempt to bring in Domi.
that dirty little prick of a defenseman still won't help the rangers...

He will help BIG time
Might only be 5'11" but he hits like a bull - with him and Kloueck (if he is given time) on the back line the NYR are going to make the other teams keep their heads up -- Just ask Lindros about Kasper's hits .
ok you guys wanted toughness? you got it in another former DEVIL...

6/23/2002
New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has acquired left wing Krzysztof Oliwa from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for future considerations.
Oliwa, 29, appeared in 57 games with the Penguins last season, collecting two assists and a team-leading 150 penalty minutes. He skated in his 300th career contest on April 13 at Boston. Oliwa registered his third career two-point game on January 3 at Long Island, posting two assists.
The 6-5, 235-pounder has skated in 300 career games with the New Jersey Devils, Columbus Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh Penguins, registering 14 goals and 26 assists for 40 points, along with 1,039 penalty minutes. In 1997-98, he led the NHL with 33 major penalties and ranked third in the league with a career-high 295 penalty minutes.
A native of Tychy, Poland, Oliwa was originally selected by New Jersey with the fourth choice, 65th overall, in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.

Oliwa is a glorified scrub...he's merely McKenna's replacement.
