No Ken, it's not a thread about you. The alive option should have tipped you off. I would never offer you that option
Bin Laden, dead or alive? I read an article from Newsweek yesterday that pretty much detailed how we allowed him to get out of Afghanistan and how he is in hiding in Pakistan. The CIA disagreed believing he is still in Afghanistan.
Then today, I read an article that suggests that the CIA believes he died during bombing raids in December. I realize this is classic misinformation to try and draw him out if he is still alive.
What do you think? I must admit I find it strange that if he is still alive, why hasn't he made some public statement. One suggestion is that he is waiting for us to declare him dead and then he will surface to mock us. I don't buy that. I believe if he were still alive, he would have surfaced by now to give the extremists hope.
Another theory is he will wait until the anniversary of 9/11 to make a statement. That makes no sense either as anniversaries of attacks mean little to terrorists. When they are ready, they act. They only use anniversaries of wrong doing to their cause if they choose to act on an anniversary. I would worry more about the anniversary of our attack on the Taliban than I would of 9/11.

OAS, has it come to this, are you incapable of posting without mentioning my name, even in a Bin Laden thread...
Please stop
stop following me,
stop obsessing about me,
just stop :-(
I didn't notice I was a poll choice, so yes I think this thread is about me too.... double

I honestly don't know whether he's alive or dead, at this point you'd think we'd know...I mean if he was dead, he'd be martyred and I'm sure we'd know, and if he was alive, he'd seem almost invincible, and we'd know about that, sadly I think he's alive, hiding, and planning....
You mean like you do to me and Arpi?
I think the fucker is alive and well.
Sad to say.
First, isn't Bin Ladin on dialysis for kidney problems? He needs a portable, hand cranked dialysis machine to live?
Also, didn't Al Queda come out and admit he was injured during one of the first bombing raids on the training camps?
And didn't he look like and Aids patient in the last video released?
I'm thinking he was injured, the injury was infected, he's not getting regular dialysis treatment...
In other words, a slow and painful death. We can only hope.
i hope he is alive. i think beards are sexy!
Okay OAS, you're getting as bad as ken
i know that fucker is still alive
Cockroaches can survive anything
One theory that holds some merit is that bin Laden has snuck into Iran. If there, he is getting any medical attention he needs. Once in Iran, he can move very easily into Iraq. If that is the case, Dubya will have his formula for a war with Iraq.
Quote:If that is the case, Dubya will have his formula for a war with Iraq.
How would we know that he was there (legitimately)? If Bush is smart, he'll say that Iraq is harboring Bin Laden, and strike fast before someone can prove otherwise. Once what is done is done, a simple oops and sex scandal will fix everything.
This weekend, the news started doing their stories on the latest military hardware expected to be used in an Iraq war. That's a pretty sure sign we're going in within a few month. Want to boost the confidence of the populace, so the Pentagon starts releasing all this info on their latest toys.
The propaganda machine to build American acceptance of a war in Iraq is going non-stop. As Dubya continues to drop in the polls, the rhetoric will increase. Dubya knows he needs a war to get re-elected. We are currently building two bases in Bahrain and Quatar. Once those bases are completed, the military buildup in the region will begin.
Polly, if we can prove to the world that bin Laden is in Iraq, the world objection to us attacking Iraq will cease. If they find out he's there and we can prove it, we will play it for everything it is worth.
I don't even think we need to prove it 100%, just give the public the strong suspicion that he's there and they'll support it, especially now that they seem to be replaying the attacks of 9/11 more and more on television. Remind us of the horror, and we'll support just about anything if we think it will ease the pain of almost a year ago. Bush said sometimes evil doesn't have a face, but show the public Bin Laden, no matter how abstract the target may be, and they'll support it.
I can't figure out what the Hell Bush has done,
everyone said play it cool after 9\11 that we'd do it the right way,
But I can't seem to figure out what we've accomplished,
and Bush has to be the President with the lowest profile since the invention of telelvision, I mean where is he?
Quote:But I can't seem to figure out what we've accomplished
It's a work in progress. We are just starting to nation build, so we'll be elbow-deep in Afghanistan for a few years. But we did manage to topple the Taliban, and disrupt the Al Qaeda network. Was it perfect? No, there has never been a military operation unhampered by politics and egos. But all in all, considering it has been less than a year since 9/11, the military has done quite a good job under trying circumstances.
Oh, and dead as a doornail. I don't buy the riding off into the Iranian sunrise story-if it happened, he is one hearty motherfucker. Did you see how frail he looked in that last video? That guy couldn't cross the fucking street without stopping for breath, there's no way he made it overland in that terrain during that time of the year.

I think he's hanging with elvis is Kansas drinking slurpees and looking at porno.
If we attack Iraq every country over there most likely declare war on us. Which would then cause Israel and India to wage a full scale assault into that region and there is no telling what types of weapons would be used.
I have two questions is the world ready for another world war, and if so what are we going to do with the extreme liberals and sympathisers who believe it's our fault for what has happend and for what is happening?
:poke:
Edit..... Damnit, even after the first edit I spelled Israel wrong..

These type of comments cause me to shake my head and wonder if any Americans have any clue at all. And Demon, I mean no dig on you directly.
First off, Israel and India would never wage war on countries in the region. Israel cannot wage any war without our approval. Under the terms of the US arming and swearing to defend Israel, the Israeli government must get approval from the President and the Senate Armed Services committee to attack other nations if they are not defending themselves. Israel does not manufacture any of their military weapons. And India would never attack any nation other than Pakistan. They don’t give a shit about anything or anyone else. The predominantly Buddhist population of India want’s to live in peace and harmony with the elements.
And as far as the middle east goes, who would declare war on the US? Egypt is the largest military might in the region. Egypt is our biggest friend in the Arab world. They hate Israel but they are totally in bed with the US. Why? So if they have another war with Israel, they know we will stay out of it and not fight against Egypt.
Who else in the region can take on the US? The Saudis? We arm them and we are the largest buyer of their oil. Would they bite the hand that feeds them? No they will not. Jordan? Small military and pro west. They will not piss off the US. Turkey? Nope, they need US support. The US is the second largest contributor to their economy. Iran? Their military would be destroyed in less than a week. Pakistan? They were a threat until recently. Musharef has sealed Pakistan’s alliance with the US. The rest of the countries in that region have military’s that are smaller than the Rhode Island National Guard. Many of these nations have an Air Force that consists of 5 fighter jets.
There is no nation in that region that poses any formidable threat to the US. In fact, the only military threat the US has on the entire planet is China. China and the US both know they must never go to war against each other and more than likely never will.
We will attack Iraq. Take that to the bank. And don’t worry about our image of attacking other countries. We do it when we feel we need to. Does anyone here remember Panama? Manuel Noriega? We invaded and over through a leader of a sovereign nation. The world was outraged. Does anyone care today? Remember Granada?
Sadaam knows we will attack. Why do you think he has pulled his entire military infrastructure into populated areas? We won’t use cruise missiles in populated areas. He want’s to fight us on the ground. He knows it’s his only chance.
You should dig on me directly. My comments weren't as well thought out as yours. Matter fact I didnt' think anyone one here would know or care about the situations over there so I oversimplified the information and got it wrong.. You were def. on the money with India. I didn't take into account that Pakistan wouldn't really bother with what's going on and that India's population was largely budhist.
The only reason I said Israel would be brought into the war is because they probably would be the only country to let us port at their ports and use their airspace without much bitching. Also if we started a war with Iraq, Iran would get into the picture. I know you said Iran has a shity army, but so does most of the countries in that region and that hasn't stopped them from provoking higher tech nations. Anyways we both could go on and on about this cause our opinions differ a bit, but what would that accomplish? besides a good debate..

You forget us taking a few pop shots at the Iotala's Palace in Libya a few years. People were pissed about that.
