wow,
you would think after they had homeless people running around in a drunken state through public malls would have had some action....or when a firework was shot out of some bitches cunt, there would have been some action...or when they....i could go on for years with this....
why now?
makes no sense to me...
i guess like what someone said before....you have to like little boy sex to have any sex in a church... :burnfucker:
People still listen to O&A? They've let the money go to their heads...they deserve everything they get! Dixie Chicks anyone?
why now?
Because some places are considered sacred. I don't see a bunch of Jews upset about bombs going off in the middle of Idaho, but when it happens in the holy land, that it different.
Honestly, if it happens to a church or synagog, it makes all the difference. You never hear about swastikas painted on houses, but only on temples. You'll only hear about burning crosses that are on church land. You'll only hear about kids getting arrested for getting drunk and vandalizing cemetaries.
And as for the molestation of children, people have been outraged about that for decades. The ratio of priests who are molestors is equivalent to the general population. What is questionable is how the Church has treated those cases: internal discipline instead of allowing civilian punishment. The military has the same policy: If a member of the Army commits a crime, they will often but the offender in military prison then allow a local sherrif to house the prisoner.
I don't care where the people fucked...I just don't like O&A :firebounce:
O&A lost their luster quite a while ago. The same old jokes over and over and over. there's only so much you can take. I haven't listened to them in almost a year now so I won't miss them....
Well, I still find them funny. But it's a hit or miss kinda funny. They aren't at the top of their game anymore in my opinion.
I listened to the S4S bit, and laughed my ass off.
Quote:Remember, OAAWITE.
That remains to be seen
Already begun.
WNEW Brass (Ken Stevens and Jeremy Coleman) were suspended by Infinity. The thought is O&A were doing their usual thing, and that WNEW management is supposed to be responsible to make sure they don't go to far. (this was reported in today's Newsday). With this done, it seems that the onus of repsonsiblity is off O&A and on the real culprit...bad management and guidance by the WNEW brass, which we all know has been the source of many things in the last few years.
I don't listen as much as I used to, but they still are funny....sometimes... Personally, I liked them a lot better pre-syndication and pre-Norton...but I think thats a common feeling 'round here. I listened to the show that day too and was hysterical laughing till I had to leave for the TOOL concert and my friend gained control over the radio..... Besides the fact that I kinda still like them, its frightening to me that the Catholic Church being angry could have so much power in the courts...there's a separation allegedly between church and state, so their influence is a bit unnerving.
Quote:"God is mad at you!" shouted one angry man as the pair walked silently past. "You should be ashamed of yourselves!"
AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
This is the funniest thing I've read in a long time. How in the fuck does this guy know that "god" is mad? Maybe "god" thinks it's funny as Hell. Who are we to decide what "god" thinks?
People like this are the same people that are anti-abortion, but then won't help to raise unwanted children. To which I reply, you want a woman to give birth to an unwanted child? You pay for pre and post natel(sp?) care. You adopt the kid when it's born and support it for the next 18 - 25 years. Then and only then you can be an opposed to abortion.
Sorry, went off on a bit of a rant there...
GOD:
is DOG spelled backwards...and DOG has much more empowerment b/c it is something real and substantial, and lacks the inferiority complexes, fears, and heirarchy issues that the other name carries with it. So, unless you are a mailman, DOG is the shizznit.
Come on Pollyanna, haven't you seen the power when the religious right decides to move against an organization or political figure. That is a huge force. I beleive this has some weight because this is got to be the first time in a long time that all of the Catholics are behind this. I love Dogma and have always treated the League as a joke.
Just imagine the horror if there was a prank was to steal a Jewish kids Yamaka or take a Yiddish woman's wig. The Jewish community has so much cloat that no one could get away with that.
I know that religious organizations and groups have a lot of clout, it doesn't mean I agree with it. I think comparing stealing a Jewish person's belongings to having sex in a church. One is a direct action against the individual and involving the individual of a certain faith, but the other is an action in a specific place without involving anyone but the parties involved by choice.

Not exactly true. There were worshippers in the pews. They were "allegedly" having sex in the pews where people were praying. So, not everyone who witnessed it did so by choice.
From my understanding, they didn't do it in the pews, they did it somewhere more hidden. If they did it in the pews while people were worshipping, then that changes things.
I still think it violates the principle of sacred ground.
Oh man the fox news report was absolutely classic. Throughout the entire thing they showed facts like "Anthony never graduated from high school", I couldn't stop laughing.
Quote:I still think it violates the principle of sacred ground.
And I still think the concept of "sacred ground" is idiotic. To whom is it sacred? Why should I consider it sacred if I don't hold the same beliefs? Respect for others' beliefs? Then you better stop eating beef because some religions consider cows sacred.
There has to be a point where we draw the line as to how much power any one person's beliefs can hold over another's. A church is a "sacred" place, but it is also a public place. Commiting a crime in a church is no worse than commiting a crime in a parking lot. Except for the perception. A perception that must be questioned as there are so many religions and so many perspectives.
It would be really really funny if they were fired.
