It was announced yesterday that Hulk Hogan had confirmed that he no longer had a contract with WWE and that he was working for the company based on a “handshake” deal with Vince McMahon that only required him to work a list of dates, in which he did. However today, Hogan has confirmed these rumors to be accurate and says that he has not been in contact with anyone in WWE for several weeks.
These stories do not necessarily mean that we have seen the last of Hogan as many expect Hogan to return when his soon-to-be-released autobiography goes up for sale, but his salary will have to be worked out with Vince McMahon before that happens. Hogan also has a storyline in which the WWE creative team can work him into a feud with Brock Lesnar as he was the last person beating on Hogan before his absence from the company.
However, when and if Hogan returns to WWE all depends on what kind of money that the Hulkster will be making as that is how his last fall out with Vince McMahon happened over the tour in Australia. WWE officials have said that they cannot afford to pay Hogan an outrageous salary simply because his physical condition will not allow him to fight the kind of matches that the top WWE wrestlers should be fighting.
According to an article published today by Reuters news service, the daughter of Andre the Giant has asked WWE to honor the tenth anniversary of her father's death at WrestleMania XIX. "It seems like they don't honor him," Robin Christensen (Andre’s daughter), 23, said of WWE and her father.
Vince McMahon responded in the article by saying: "We honor Andre's memory almost every day," he went on to say, "Hardly a day goes past where we don't think and/or talk about Andre, but nothing specific (was planned) for WrestleMania."
