The facts are there, you just need to know where to look for them. Here are a few more common facts to ponder on,
Sadaam was warned by the US that if he did any one of the 3 following things during the Gulf War, he would pay with his life and his nation, 1) He could not attack Israel. He did. 2) He could not use chemical weapons in Kuwait. He did. 3) He could not use bio or nuclear weapons against coalition forces.
After seeing we did nothing to him for the first two violations, Saadaam pulled his Republican Guard elite troops to surround Baghdad. Even though it was reported that Republican Guard troops were massing by the thousands on the Saudi Boarder and we attacked and killed thousands of them, it never happened. The troops at the boarder were regular Iraqi army and they surrendered pretty much without a fight.
Sadaam pulled his loyal troops around Baghdad and issued orders that if we came within 50 miles of Bagdahd, they were to attack with biological weapons. He wasn't afraid of the consequences, because we did nothing to him once he violated the other two don’t try it's. When US intel learned that bio weapons had been deployed, we stopped the advance and retreated saying the war was over because Kuwait had been liberated. That single action pissed Schwartzkoff off so bad, he eventually retired.

OAS, do you believe that Saddam is supplying terrorists with biological weapons and dirty bombs to use on American soil?
10-18-2002, 01:54 AM
Bio, yes. Nukes no. He has no nuke capability. The Russians and the North Koreans, bank on it.

But isnt that the same thing we thought about the N.Koreans?

If i was asked to fight for my country i would for sure. If i saw the need to fight i would.
Saddam i think is giving bio to terrorists i do not think he has nuke power yet though

Quote:But isnt that the same thing we thought about the N.Koreans? We have known all along that the N. Koreans had nukes. China provided them with missile launch capability. They were allowed to keep a small arsenal to defend themselves because we have nukes in South Korea. What they were banned from doing and what we just learned was they are developing weapons grade plutonium. Why? Because N. Korea still has a doctrine to defeat the south and treat us as an enemy.

Quote:If he asked students at a university the question, they obviously do not want to, themselves, fight in a war, or they would already be in the service.
Noelle,
That's not entirely true....there are many people in college who earn their degrees and then join the military. I have a few people in some of my classes who are in the service but in school, and I know someone who did the college thing and then began his career in the military. The military isn't an alternate to everyone, to some people its a career.
As for what I would do, I'd do anything that I was asked to do. I'm not eligible to serve, god knows I've tried, and I've also been told I wouldn't survive the training, but I'd do anything else that was necessary.

O Canada....
Did you know that the US sat on the admission from North Korea that they still have nuclear capibilities and they're continuing to build more--for 12 fucking days. So that Congress would pass the resolution to give Shrub wartime powers to go into Iraq.
Is this going to be a war on 2 fronts...3 fronts...4 fronts...will we become the American Empire? Maybe not, there's no oil in N. Korea or Pakistan...So-Damn Insane.

If you define youngster as anyone under the age of 35, then let me post my answer:
I will be there unless they keep me here yet again for homeland defense, in which case I will transfer to active duty to get over there. I have dedicated most of my adult life to the service of my country and will continue to do so. Those camel monkeys must be destroyed and I will be only too happy to help in their deaths.

GW, They can give you a bat and explosive softballs and you can pick them off at 385 feet deep to left, one at a time.
Well, it looks like our 3rd front may be starting to define itself. Indonesia is popping all of a sudden. A suicide bomber just took out a bus in the Phillipines. al-Quiada is very active in Indonesia.

I would if called, but am 29, married and a baby on the way. With our volunteer army so big already, I do not see my self being drafted. 4 years ago, I would have gone in a second if my country called. This will be be a multidimensional war fought on many fronts. Again much of the war will be from the air where we destroy anything in sight.
