Me and JennyBrownEyes(my girlfriend) went to see Carlin at SUNY Purchase tonight. This is my first time seeing him and I have to say I walked away a little unimpressed. I have listened to a lot of his stuff from the 70's and 80's and found he's gotten a lot more bitter and angry over the past ten years. No more plays on words, just a lot of ranting about what people should be killed and stuff...I left kinda unhappy. Anyone else got comments about a comedy legend who is slowly becoming and angry old fart??
Oh yeah, and one other thing that made me a little uncomfortable seeing kids 13, 14 years old sitting in the crowd with their parents.

ya, i noticed he went on a little long with that shit on his hbo special
... I dunno... he's way into thinking being angry and cursing is funny.... it amazes me that Bill Cosby could be so funny without saying a single curse, when there are so many comedians that depend on cursing.....
Carlin is seriously funny. Look at the bright side at least you got to see new material, right?
There wasn't a lot of new material, it was mostly the same shit he had on the last HBO special
FUCK YOU!!! You will not disparage my prophet. Sure, he's getting old and bitter, but look at the mind of the man... You can't expect a person who is so dissatisfied with the overall stupidity of man to become more complacent with age, can you? I mean FUCK!!! If you had half the hate for stupidity as he does, you would understand. Personally, I love the way he bitches about society. I think he has become the old and bitchy version of me... Well, that I can only hope to be. It's easy to become complacent when you're stupid. Try doing it when you have a level of comprehension above that of a 12 year-old. It becomes an entirely different kind of frustrating.
George Carlin....Angry? NOOOOOOOO, say it ain't so, he always seemed like such a happy, cheery fellow
